View Menu – Freeze Panes in Google Sheets
The "Freeze panes" feature in Google Sheets allows you to keep specific rows or columns visible as you scroll through a sheet. This can be useful when you have a large sheet and want to keep the headers or other important information visible at all times. Here's how to use "Freeze panes":
- Select the row or column you want to freeze.
- Go to "View" > "Freeze" and select one of the following options:
- "Freeze top row": This option will freeze the top row of the sheet so that it remains visible as you scroll down.
- "Freeze first column": This option will freeze the first column of the sheet so that it remains visible as you scroll to the right.
- "Freeze panes": This option will freeze the rows and columns to the left and above the currently selected cell.
- The frozen rows or columns will remain visible as you scroll through the sheet, so that you can always see the header information or other important data.
- To turn off the freeze panes feature, go to "View" > "Freeze" and select "No frozen panes".
