View Menu – Freeze Panes in Google Sheets

View Menu – Freeze Panes in Google Sheets

The "Freeze panes" feature in Google Sheets allows you to keep specific rows or columns visible as you scroll through a sheet. This can be useful when you have a large sheet and want to keep the headers or other important information visible at all times. Here's how to use "Freeze panes":
  1. Select the row or column you want to freeze.
  2. Go to "View" > "Freeze" and select one of the following options:
    • "Freeze top row": This option will freeze the top row of the sheet so that it remains visible as you scroll down.
    • "Freeze first column": This option will freeze the first column of the sheet so that it remains visible as you scroll to the right.
    • "Freeze panes": This option will freeze the rows and columns to the left and above the currently selected cell.
  3. The frozen rows or columns will remain visible as you scroll through the sheet, so that you can always see the header information or other important data.
  4. To turn off the freeze panes feature, go to "View" > "Freeze" and select "No frozen panes".
By using the "Freeze panes" feature, you can easily keep important information visible as you work with a large sheet, making it easier to navigate and understand your data.
