Receipt Voucher – Amount Received In Cheque

To record a receipt voucher for the amount received in a cheque in Tally, you can follow these steps:

1. Open Tally and select the company in which you want to record the voucher entry.
2. From the Gateway of Tally, select the option “Accounting Vouchers” by pressing “F9” or by clicking on “Accounting Vouchers” from the left-hand menu.
3. Select the “Receipt Voucher” option.
4. In the voucher creation screen, select the bank account in which you deposited the cheque in the “Account” field.
5. In the “Particulars” section, enter the name of the person or the account from which you received the cheque in the “Particulars” field. Enter the amount of the cheque received in the “Amount” field.
6. Enter any additional details related to the transaction in the “Narration” field.
7. In the “Cheque/DD Details” section, enter the details of the cheque received, such as the cheque number, the bank name, and the date of deposit.
8. Once you have entered all the details, you can save the voucher by pressing “Ctrl+A”.
9. Repeat the same process for each receipt voucher for the amount received in a cheque that you want to record in Tally.

Note: It's important to ensure that you have set up the bank account and the person or account from which you received the cheque in Tally before creating the receipt voucher to accurately track your cash inflows and outflows. Additionally, make sure to deposit the cheque in the bank before recording the receipt voucher.
