File Menu – Save Version History Open Excel File in Google Sheets

In Google Sheets, you can save version history of a file and view past versions of the file. To do this:
  1. Go to the "File" menu and click on "Version history".
  2. From the version history menu, you can see the list of all previous versions of the file, including the date and time each version was saved, and the person who saved it.
  3. To view a previous version of the file, simply click on the version you want to view. The previous version will open in a new tab, allowing you to compare it with the current version.
  4. To revert to a previous version, click on the version you want to revert to, then click the "Restore this version" button. This will replace the current version of the file with the selected version.

To open an Excel file in Google Sheets:
  1. Go to Google Drive and click the "New" button.
  2. Select "File upload" and choose the Excel file you want to open.
  3. Once the file is uploaded, right-click on the file and select "Open with" > "Google Sheets".
The Excel file will be converted to a Google Sheet and opened in a new tab in your browser. You can now work with the file in Google Sheets just as you would with any other sheet.
