Create, Alter And Delete Group in Tally Prime

In Tally Prime, you can create, alter, and delete groups using the following steps:

1. Create a Group:

Step 1: Open Tally Prime and go to the Gateway of Tally. 

Step 2: Select the "Accounts Info" option and then click on "Groups". 

Step 3: Click on "Create" to create a new group. 

Step 4: Enter the name of the group and select the "Primary" radio button if it is a primary group. If it is a sub-group, select the parent group from the "Under" field. 

Step 5: Press "Enter" to save the group.

2. Alter a Group:

Step 1: Go to Gateway of Tally and select "Accounts Info" from the menu. 

Step 2: Click on "Groups" and select the group you want to alter. 

Step 3: Click on "Alter" to modify the group details. 

Step 4: Make the necessary changes and click on "Enter" to save the changes.

3. Delete a Group:

Step 1: Go to Gateway of Tally and select "Accounts Info" from the menu. 

Step 2: Click on "Groups" and select the group you want to delete. 

Step 3: Click on "Alter" to modify the group details.

Step 4: Press "Alt + D" to delete the group, and then press "Enter" to confirm the deletion.

Note: Before deleting a group, make sure there are no transactions or ledgers linked to it. If there are any, you need to alter them and change their group first before deleting the group.
